Saturday, September 20
Week 2: Sunny Hills Invitational

• Jon Sandoval: Improved his time from 17:19 in 2002 to 16:51 in 2003 as he established himself as the Braves number six runner. More impressive was his strong race after nursing a slight injury just a couple of weeks prior.
• Victor Bonilla: Stepped up in the absence of the top freshman to run a strong race and record a personal record. Proved that he will be a strong force for years to come on the Braves team.

Thursday, September 25
Week 3: Serra League Cluster

• Randy Skillens: Tied the school record after a second place finish at the Serra League cluster meet. After racing as the team's #2 runner in the first two races Skillens captured the #1 man spot to finish in 15:44 and a share of the record.
• Luis Perez: Captured the 4th man spot for his team to finish 5th at the Serra League cluster meet. Luis keeps improving from his days as a 6:00 minute freshman miler. His finishing time of 16:15 was a big improvement over last year's time of 18:04. His time places him #6 all time for amongst juniors on the Serra League Course
• Luis Toapanta: Ran a gutsy race after a week of minimal training because of an illness Placed as his teams 2nd runner in a time of 18:28 to finish 5th overall. His time places him at #8 of all time freshman on the Serra League course.

Saturday, September 27
Week 3: Roadrunner Classic

• Luis Uribe: Led the Roadrunner classic from start to finish to capture the men's title. His time of 15:43 places him 5th amongst seniors on Bosco's home course. Placed as the team's #1 runner for the 3rd time in four races while leading his team to the Roadrunner team title and a team course record.
• Ephraim Barrios: Set a personal record for himself as he finished third overall at the Roadrunner Classic in a time of 15:54. Stayed consistent as the teams 3rd man as he took 39 seconds off of last year's time of 16:33. His time places him 7th amongst seniors on the Braves all time course list.
• Isidro Najera: This first year runner saw his hard work and dedication to training pay off at the Roadrunner Classic as he set a personal record and broke 21:00 minutes for the first time to finish in a time of 20:43.

Saturday, October 4
Week 4: Warren-Stauffer Invitational

• Matt Pruter: Ran an agressive race to finish with a career best time of 16:16. His never say die attitude and his consistant hard work over the past few months has paid off as he continues to prove himself as one of the most improved Braves this year.
• Bradley Bonilla: Ran a relentless race of determination to record a huge personal record. His time of 17:36 was sixth best on the day as his consistant hard work paid off big time.
• Raymond Cruces: Raced to a forty second personal record over the week prior to finish with a time of 18:19. Has consistantly been working harder in the workouts and has shown that he is willing to dedicate himself to the sport in order to improve in the years to come.

Saturday, October 11
Week 5: Clovis Invitational

• Randy Skillens: Ran a determined race at the Clovis Invitational to lead his team to a 3rd place finish. His time of 15:46 not only broke the junior class record, but also broke his own school record set at last years State Meet. Skillens has stepped up his work ethic, attitude and leadership abilities in the past few weeks and looks to lead his team to bigger and better things!
• Alex Wood: After struggling with his racing technique all season long Wood finally composed himself to run a solid race. In doing so he led his junior varsity squad to a 2nd place team finish at the Clovis Invitational and also positioned himself as a solid member of the Braves top 10. His 5K time of 17:59 translates into a 3 mile personal record of 17:29.

Saturday, October 18
Week 6: Bell Gardens Invitational

• Matt Estrella: Rebounded from an off week at the Clovis Invitaional to regain the form he had at the Roadrunner Classic, and Warren Invitationals. His race looked both controlled and strong as he finished with a respectable time of 16:29 to run a personal record for that course while finishing among the top ten seniors in the race. As his senior season winds down he is determined not to only have two remaining races, but the FIVE that include racing for his team in the post-season!
• Carlos Alvarenga: After getting off to a shaky start to his seasn while missing a few practices and struggling to hit faster times in initial races, Carlos has come on strong. Turned over a new leaf at the Roadruner Classic, and Warren Invitationals in breaking 19 minutes for the first time. Set the bar higher for himself at Bell Gardens as he PR'd again to break 18 minutes for the first time in racing to a 17:41 finish. If commited could be one of the top Braves in the 2004 cross country season.
• Casey O'Neill: Although has openly admitted he'd rather be swimming then running, one can sense that his determination to improve wont let him give up becoming a better racer. After not racing because of a hip injury last season and having a freshman year in which he struggled to break 30 minutes at times, Casey has come on this year stronger, and healthy. His 19:41 is a huge personal record for him but one that everyone that knows him realizes he wont be satisfied with. His constant drive to improve will take him as far as he can go.

Saturday, October 25
Week 7: Mt. SAC Invitational

• Randy Skillens: Proved once again that he is the team's top runner when it comes to competing in the big races. Broke the 26 year old junior class school record after finishing with a time of 15:28. That time places him third overall on the school's Mt. SAC list. Skillens has now positioned himself to seriously challenge for the Serra League individual title and to capture a very respectable All CIF placing. Has tied or broke records at Central Park, Woodward Park, and Mt. SAC.
• Jon Sandoval: After starting the season as the team's #8 runner Sandoval has uppped his focus to become a serious force in the Braves top 7. Made huge strides after improving his best time at Mt. SAC from 17:11 in 2002 to 16:25. Filled in the gap as the team's #4 man after realizing other teammates were having an "off" race. The newly found focus for racing will surely help his team in the up coming weeks as they attempt to capture team titles in the Serra league, CIF, and State.
• Luis Perez: Had what seemed to be an "off" race at Mt. SAC as he looked sluggish and uninspired during the competition. It was revealed after that he had fallen in the opening moments of the race and was in last place for much of the first mile. His "unimpressive" time of 16:36 became highly impressive after his accident was taken into consideration. Perez is confident he could have broken 16:00 on this day and after his determination to finish his race in such a respectable manner, no one should doubt that he will hit all the goals he has set for himself.

Week 9: Serra League Finals

Friday, November 7

• Luis Uribe: With his performance at league finals Uribe showed why his team is strong - very solid running up front. His time of 15:47 was good enough to lead this team, but instead he was the teams #2 runner and 3rd overall in league. Over the last three seasons Uribe has steadily improved (17:03, 16:25, 16:06, 15:47) at this course and on this day out he showed that he can run up front to help lead his team as far as they will follow him.
• Jon Batres: After taking a full running hiatus after the Roadrunner Classic, Batres has come back to flourish. While not having the season he had hoped for he was still able to help his team on the Frosh/Soph level. His huge victory helped spark his team to it's 5th consecutive Serra League title. In the process Batres earned himself a spot on the post season roster hoping to work himself back into the kind of shape that could help his team in it's bid for the BIG titles.
• Matt Pruter: Looked comanding in leading his Junior Varsity squad to the Serra League team title. His strong willed race was also good enough to propel him to the top spot in the division. His hard work and constant drive to do better helped him come this far and it will not doubt help him be ready in the post season if he is called on to step up into a vital role for his team.
• Victor Bonilla: This first year runner stepped up huge for his team when they needed him most. Stepping into the #2 man spot after another teammate wasn't at full strength because of injury, Bonilla ran incredible and helped secure his frosh/soph team the team title. His finishing time also earns him a spot on the all time top ten list among Bosco freshman at Central Park. With no summer put in this season Bonilla was still able to impress coaches as they look for him to step his game up to another level next season!

Week 10: CIF-SS Prelims
Saturday, November 15

• Matt Estrella: To say that his race shocked everyone maybe an understatement. But when challenged midseason by an assistant coach that said he had only two races left in his senior year Estrella gained new life as each workout since then has been geared toward "four more races." After proving himself in the first of the "four" (Serra League finals) Estrella came through huge after producing a 16:24 personal best at Mt. SAC in the prelims. His vast improvement helped his team as well, as they lacked their usual 3rd and 5th scorers on this day out. With Estrella's new found passion he willed his way enough to help his team get through prelims and move to finals. "Two more races left" and Estrella hasn't shown any signs of relenting his spot.
