CLOVIS INVITATIONAL::
Braves Gain Valuable Experience at Clovis
Sixteen Braves made the three hour trip north
to Fresno for the Clovis Invitational -- all sixteen came back
with much needed "big race" experience.
Nine Junior Varsity runners, comprised of a group
made up of freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors, all competed
in a race that featured over 30 teams and 230 runners. Paced by
Darby O'neill's 20th place finish the JV Braves finished a strong
8th place overall. It was a successful trip for the young Braves
hoping to step up to the Varsity level in the seasons to come.
On the Varsity side of things, Randy Hills and
Tony Martinez turned in a fine pair of race day performances, but
could not help their team to a top 10 team finish. The Brave's
finished 17th as the team's 3-7 runners finished further back in
the pack in a race that featured many of the state's top ranked
teams. It was a valuable lesson for the Varsity Braves who hope
to be back on this course in November for the California State
Meet. |
