SERRA LEAGUE PREVIEW::
St. John Bosco To Battle the Serra League
On Friday November 2, the St. John Bosco Cross
Country team will be competing in the Serra League Finals. Teams
competing on this day include: Mater Dei, Rosary, Santa Margarita,
Servite and St. Joseph. For the Braves it will be their attempt
to capture their 8th League title in a row. The Braves sit
on top of the League Standings with a perfect 3-0 record. This
statistic may be deceiving however, as Mater Dei is now running
healthy and seems primed to make a run at the Braves. The
Santa Margarita Eagles are also looking to avenge an October 25th
defeat at the hands of the Braves. What all this means is
that the Serra League race will be a tough one! Our Braves
have worked hard this season and would love nothing more then to
come out on top of the tough Serra League. Top individuals
that will be making a run for the individual League Crown will
be our own Randy Hills and Anthony Martinez , Santa Margarita runner
Mike Powers , and Mater Dei's Chris Zepeda .
In the lower level races the Braves Frosh/Soph
team will be going for another League title and a perfect season
record. Pacing the young Braves will be Randy Skillens , and
Ephraim Barrios . The Junior Varsity will be looking to pay
back a loss at the hands of Santa Margarita, their only defeat. The
JV will be led by Darby O'neill and Eddie Diaz . |
