MT. SAC::
Braves Endure Mt. SAC Invitational
After the Mt. SAC invitational was said and done
some Braves came away from it with a feeling of accomplishment
and some with a feeling of disappointment.
Four race levels took place for the team throughout
the warm breezy day starting at 9:30 with the Varsity Boys. The
team were entered in the Individual Sweepstakes race, a race that
featured many of the elite runners from throughout the state. Once
again leading the way for the Varsity Braves was Junior Anthony
Martinez finishing the course in 15:46. Running strong on
this day as our 2nd man was Senior Daniel Estrella . Rounding
out the top 7 were Senior Randy Hills, Senior Albert Flores, Senior
Patrick Pavelski (who dropped his Mt. SAC PR over a minute to finish
with a time of 16:54), and Sophomores Mahesh Gandhiand Ruben Flores
. Overall the Braves finished 6th, with a team time of 82:17.
Other notable Brave performances throughout the
day were:
• Junior Eddie Diaz and Senior David Garcia
finishing 5th and 10th overall in their race.
• Ephraim Barrios and Luis Uribe leading their Sophomore team to a 3rd place
finish.
• Freshman Randy Skillens finishing 2nd overall in his race and establishing
himself as the Braves #8 runner.
