Braves Race Past Servite

It was a hot day for racing, but everyone finished their races standing. For the third season in a row the Braves defeated the Servite Friars. It wasn't only the heat that proved to be too hot for the Friar's as the Braves placed four finishers in front of Servite's #1 man. The Braves went on to take places 6,7, and 8 to finish with a score of 16-47. Albert Flores came out with a one second victory over teammate Mahesh Gandhi . Patrick Pavelski , Ruben Flores, Darby O'niell, Eddie Diaz , and Joey Hawkins rounded out the top 7 for the Braves. The Junior Varsity and Frosh/Soph levels also fared well as both squads posted victories of 15-50. In his first race ever Freshman Randy Skillens won the F/S race with a time of 18:41.

This was the first Serra League win for the Braves, who still need to overcome two more tough teams in Mater Dei and Santa Margarita in order to capture their 8th League title in a row.
