ROADRUNNER CLASSIC::
The Braves continued
their streak of runner-up finishes after placing 2nd to a very
strong Katella team at this year's Roadrunner Classic Invitational.
Paced by Anthony Martinez and Randy Skillens, the Braves were
with out the services of one of their top three runners, Freshman
Jonathon Batres. Despite the mild set back the Braves still managed
to place three of their runners in the top 10. Martinez finished
in 3rd place after racing to a 15:38 clocking, while Skillens,
racing with super high confidence this year, finished in 6th place
with a huge PR of 15:57. Junior Luis Uribe continues to impress
and finished in 9th place (16:12). Rounding out the top 7 for the
Braves were Junior Ephraim Barrios (16:33), Senior Darby O'neill
(16:51), and Juniors Mahesh Gandhi (16:57) and Ruben Flores (17:04).
In the Junior Varsity race Junior Jon Sandoval raced to a huge
lifetime best (16:51) to finish in the top spot. He would set the
tone for the whole race as the Braves captured the first four spots
to clinch the tam team title.
Sophomore Kevin Urak lead his Frosh/Soph team in a time of 17:16
to place 3rd overall. His placing wasn't enough as Katella took
the team title by a mere three points when the Braves failed to
place their 5th man high enough. |
