SUNNY HILLS INVITATIONAL::
Braves Take Runner-Up Spot
For the second week in a row the St. John Bosco Cross Country
team captured the runner-up spot at their respective invitational.
Craig Park was the site of this years Sunny Hills Invitational.
The Braves, who after a one year hiatus, returned to Sunny Hills
after a hard week of training. Despite worn legs the Braves still
managed to run strong as they placed a runner in the top 3 in each
of the four grade level races. This was not enough however to capture
the team title as Glendora High School out raced Bosco by 13 seconds
to take the top spot.
Sophomore Randy Skillens lead the Braves as he finished 2nd in
his race with time of 16:05. Fourth year runner Tony Martinez took
3rd in the Senior race with a time of 16:08. Luis Uribe is adjusting
nicely to his first serious year of running as he took 3rd in the
Junior race in 16:17. Freshman John Batres broke the Freshman course
record enroute to a first place finish in his race crossing the
line at 16:18. |
