On
a day when the St. John Bosco varsity athletes took a day off the
lower level runners decided to step up their game to show what
they could do with the spot light on them.
It was a successful day overall as the sophomores
led by Tim Barreto and Justin Martinez were able to take 3rd
place as a team in their race. Both athletes were able to earn
their "letter" as they cracked the 17 minute barrier
for the first time. Sophomore Raymond Cruces was also a main
factor in leading the sophomores as he ran to a 17:47 personal
best.
Other races saw Isidro Najera set a personal
best of 18:59 to lead the senior group, Michael Alvarez run a
personal best of 17:36 to lead the junior group and David Boese
lead the freshman group after a week off of running due to illness.
