Lethargic Braves Advance to CIF Finals for 6th Straight year

This year's St. John Bosco squad is on their way to proving themselves to be on par with teams of the past. They kept the tradition alive by capturing their 12th consecutive league title and for the sixth season in a row they were able to advance out of the CIF-Southern Section preliminaries into the finals. Advancing didn't come easy - as easy as some on the squad thought it maybe - as the Braves looked heavy throughout the race. Still the Braves have their next big test next week as they attempt a solid placing and a birth into the California State meet.

Junior Victor Bonilla and senior Jonathan Batres led the way with junior Justin Martinez right in tow. Martinez ran a strong race to provide a formidable 1,2,3 punch for his squad in their heat. Junior Timothy Barreto and sophomore Brett McCoy rounded out the top five. Senior John Woscek took full advantage of his chance in this his first official varsity race of the season as he scored a solid Mt. SAC personal best racing to a time of 17:30.

The Braves will run next at Mt. SAC on Saturday November 19 at 10:45am.
